Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars will be published by Kalypso Media and has been developed by Palindrome Interactive on Xbox One. My favorite quote from the trailer: “Tell me, what is the point of victory, when all you can celebrate is the end of the world?” I’ve played a lot of strategy games and this one seems special. While it takes a bit to get the hang of how everything works, once you figure it out, you’ll really start to enjoy the battles. I love the gothic theme and the music is to die for (no pun intended). It’s a very promising strategy game with a unique atmosphere of vampires at war. There are tons of options that make every battle all up to you. When fighting, you must decide your attacks and it’s a true turn-based strategy battle. They are used for all kinds of things to help you become a supreme army. Beyond just fighting and creating an army, you have a multitude of options for upgrading and equipping gear. You’ll have plenty of choices which all matter when it comes down to defeating your rivals. There are towns and other points of interest to gather resources on your journey towards dominance and chaos. Similar to tabletop boardgames, you move your units around spaces within a map. It is a type of vampire from Romanian folklore.

The one you might not be able to recognize is from Moroi.

Nosfernus are ancient vampires which you might assume comes from the classic silent horror movie “Nosferatu”. You may notice that adding a vowel to the word reveals it to be the common vampires we all know and hate to love. Each clan is unique and will offer distinctive powers, various gameplay mechanics, and their own lords and units. Play as the Dracul, Nosfernus, or Moroia. There are three total clans that you can choose from. In the world of Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, doom is inevitable, and the only real outcome of the war is which group of vampires will be the death of it. These resources help the clans become stronger. String instruments set the tone of tragedy.

As you would expect, the setting is dark and gloomy lit by the moon that casts eerie shadows along the countryside. This concludes my rant for now but no doubt i'll be back after delving longer into this abyss of boredom and bugginess.Set in the vampire world called Nemire, opposing vampire clans battle for dominance. But as the game stands now, there's plenty of patching and polishing up to do in order to make things look, feel and behave like it should because my impression is that at some time during the development they ran out of steam (or didn't even care to read our comments) and decided to just leave it at that. The soundtrack (strong point) and overall visuals aren't bad, i'll give them that. It's also worth mentioning that whenever an enemy lord plays a card, you need to focus in quickly or miss it, leaving you wondering what he/she actually played?!

The battle maps pretty much all look the same really, they're way too small, feel overly cramped, are full of stupid choke points to get bogged into, and offer practically zero contribution to the trategic value of the game (in other words, potential wasted). It's as if you're always mistaking left from right by the simplest of actions!) Boring!! (Ooh, i would almost forget to mention about the awkward camera movement or functionality. Terrible story, bad acting, uninspiring voices (grunting and moaning basically) low quality FMV, mindless plot. Unit types that are not offering much, except some basic stats like buffs & boons even on highest tier and leveling them up should also have been made more transparent. It has choppy/glitchy motion & user interfaces, little to no real strategic values, bland and boring maps, not to mention the severe lack of diversity for 'terrain & cover systems' and whatnot (which does practically nothing for archer/ranged types). (confirmed: missing card mechanics, disappearing units, corrupted save/load files, etc.) This game tries so hard but delivers little, making it look, act and feel underqualified & unpolished in pretty much all aspects. The concept is nice tho, i won't deny it, but the execution is very poorly done to say the least! (they basically left the beta running for over 6 months while changing little to nothing, how or why one does that goes beyond my comprehension?) Having played the beta for over 20 hours (i had to push myself tbh) it already was clear that this game would fall short. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, the RANT review:
